The Terre Haute Symphony orchestra is pleased to announce its 97th season, “We’re Playing for YOU!” The orchestra’s 2022-2023 season is packed with repertoire that features the symphony’s own talented musicians, including Concertmaster Elina Rubio and Principal Pianist Timothy Stephenson. Celebrating the brilliance of its talented musicians, the THSO is set to showcase several instruments and musicians from the orchestra, including a rockin’ Tuba Concerto!

Every new generation has a favorite Disney musical, whether it’s The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, The Lion King, or Frozen. And then there are the classics, from a Mary Poppins medley to the “Yo ho” of Pirates of the Caribbean. When everyone joins together for memorable moments and melodies we all know by heart, it feels like a small world, after all.

Terre Haute favorite, Di Wu, will unfortunately not be able to perform for this concert as originally announced. The THSO has confirmed Drew Petersen, a highly sought-after soloist who has performed throughout the United States and internationally, as guest artist to perform Rachmaninoff’s Second Piano Concert.

This year’s performance will take place on April 6th at 11am at Tilson Auditorium on Indiana State University’s campus. The 45-minute concert aims to educate 4th grade level students about the instruments of the orchestra and their instrumental families. Students in 4th grade from Vigo County Schools annually attend the 9:30am performance of the program.
