The THSO is thrilled to partner with the Wabash Valley Community Foundation to bring chamber ensembles featuring THSO musicians to Clay County during the 25-26 season! Ensembles will visit Clay County Elementary Schools and share public performances for Clay County residents. The THSO String Quartet is coming to Brazil, IN! Back by popular demand, the THSO is thrilled to return to the gorgeous Church of the Immaculate Conception at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods on October 5, 2025 at 4pm! This cathedral-like structure is an astonishingly beautiful space with superb acoustics. The 75-minute program will feature beautiful chamber music performed by THSO Principal Strings and Principal Woodwinds.

This crossover eclectic show with vocalist Dan Domenech includes jazz selections by Duke Ellington and songs from the Wizard of Oz. The concert will then move on to a variety of pop hits. The artists/composers include Frank Sinatra, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Freddie Mercury, Journey, Michael Jackson, and Pharrell Williams. The THSO will welcome our Artistic Director-Designate, Dr. Roger Kalia, to the podium for Decades of Pop.

Dr. Jennifer Kirby from the Terre Haute Symphony leads an exploration of how Ancient Western Music has been reconstructed through various forms of art. The course delves into the music of Mesopotamia, Syria, Egypt, Greece, and Rome, tracing its evolution into the music of today. Artwork from museums around the world reveals the instruments used and their societal roles. By pairing iconography with written works from figures like Homer and Plato, a vivid picture of music in European antiquity emerges. The course also examines the oldest written musical examples, rare surviving instruments, and reconstructions using modern copies and voice.
